Bleed or not to bleed.

Hello! I have a CAV GT, chassis #70 and I have determined that my pressure brake light switch is bad and in need of replacing. When I replace it, will I need to bleed the brakes? Picture of the switch and Master Cylinder below. Any advice would be appreciated.

The answer is yes you will need to rebelled the brakes.
i had a similar failure twice.
changed it to a micro switch working on the brake pedal, at least now if it fails it is purely a couple,of wires and a bolt or two to swap in another!

How old is your brake fluid, new switch and it could be time for a flush any way. When was # 70 put on the road?

Great point. About 12 years ago.

Make it easy, swap out the switch. A vacuum bottle will make short work of it.
