Bucket list !

Recently saw the movie staring Jack and Morgan and began to ponder: What car related events must be seen before the big crash comes:
In no particular order....my picks
1) Pebble Beach Concours (west coast, USA)
2) Amelia Island Concours (east coast, USA) (This Year!)
3) Goodwood Festival of Speed
4) 24 hours of Lemans
5) F1 (Spa, Monaco, Monza..in that order)
6) Isle of Mann TT (The ultimate in big balls entertainment IMHO)

Anyone......

Having had the pleasure of being once or twice at most of the big name events I have to say that my bucket list does not include those events anymore because of the modern unproportionate relation of cars/car guys vs. spectators. Last weekends Monterey circus was a good reminder for me to stay clear of the peninsula that week.
Still there are 4 events that really stand out:

1. Cobra day at Willow Springs raceway north of LA
a twice a year event with everything that we like and still yuppie free.

2. Bonneville Speed Week
Its all about Yankee Ingenuity

3. Goodwood - but only the one in September where everyone including the Spectators dress up in period clothing

4. Reno Air Races - probably won't be around much longer as the Warbirds are getting less and less

You can do these four with the money you would spend for the Monterey week........
