Buying a KVA GT40

I've been offered a 900 mile 2 owner 1985 KVA Mk3 as a swap for my £14000 E type. Anyone in the UK have any idea of its value. It is appaently not MOT'd but needs little work to get it there.

Cheers

Ian, if you don't mind me saying, it would be wise to spend some time behind the wheel of the KVA. I drove a 3.8 E-type drophead for many years and going from it to anything like a KVA will make an impression on you - much more basic. Downright crude in comparison, to be honest. Perhaps it's just that the E-type is such a silky cat with nice torque band and understated refinement that it seems like such a stark contrast. You'll like the power of the KVA (assuming it doesn't have a Rover 3.5) however. Better check what kind of brakes the KVA has before you go too fast.

Ian,
There were two (maybe more?) types of KVA chassis, the first was a very basic affair, fairly quickly superseded by the "C" type chassis which was closer to the suspension arrangements of the GT40 (although not the same)
Post some more info and pics if possible, there's lots of help here. I must agree with the other guys though...a very different experience.
If the car is registered as what it is, ie a KVA, thats a good thing, however needing a little work to get it mot'd could get 'spensive!

You don't say where in he UK you are, there is bound to be someone in your area that would take a look at the car on offer to give you a guide as to how close the car is to roadworthy and which chassis type it is.

Where are you?
