Hi,

I'm assuming you are referring to the so called "marine" style camshaft used in the 157 horsepower/240 lb-ft 8.4:1 CR 1982 Ford GT mustangs (Service P/N: D3OE-AA). This is "marine" only with respect to matching the lift and duration (not the rotation) used in 351W marine engines previous to the introduction of the 1982 GT Mustang. This camshaft was also used in 1973 Torinos with 351Ws (as you can see by the service P/N).

Intake Lift: 0.416"
Exhaust Lift: 0.445"
Intake Duration: 260 Degrees
Exhaust Duration: 274 Degrees
Intake Duration @0.050: 198 Degrees
Exhaust Duration @0.050: 208 Degrees
Lobe CL: 114.5 Degrees

Based on these specs, I think this particular cam would be a (very) poor choice for your induction/heads (unless you plan on using it for a tow vehicle). Also note that the cylinder pressure will be rather high if you are running say 10:0 CR or above.

If you are planning to use the "real" 351W marine camshaft note that marine engines generally run in opposite rotation to a "normal" car engine. You don't want to find this out after installation :-(

Regards,

Al
