clutch/slave cylinder pipework

can anybody tell me what the min. pipe diameter for the master to slave cilinder is? I know if it is too small it will take more time for the piston to go back but what is too small? will 3mm work or do I need 4mm or 5mm?

I'm running a Renault Slave 1&1/16 inch if I remember correctly and 3/4 master

I have it run in normal brake pipe and it works fine

I had also heard this but decided against it during the build

The smaller pipe might work if you don't "slam" shifts, but the bigger pipe will let the clutch release faster. We tried out the smaller size on on our early Cobra replicas but the "drag racers" were destroying clutches pretty regularly because of slip.
