B Bill D Feb 24, 2005 #2 I did a little research and found that the very early GT40's used a Colotti T37 4-speed transaxle. But they kept blowing up. So Carroll Shelby switched to the Pantera ZF transaxle. The MKII"s used a T44 made by Kar Kraft.
