Hello Ron !!
I just got on, and seen we are only one member shy of the magic 2000. Congratulations on keeping this a excellent, nearly problem free community. This forum is one of the best out there, and you don't have to sort through a bunch of trash each day. It seems to be a tight community here, with people going out of their way to help others.

Thanks again for providing this for everyone to use.
Regards Brian

We've got a lot of members now, and although only about half are active it is still a good community. But, one must count the lurkers and non-registered readers, which my logs show make up about 70% of the traffic, so we're doing okay. Heck, there just aren't many GT40s around!

Soon I am going to open a "www.gt40s.com" store, where we'll have some items of interest to GT40 builders - FAV plates, vinyl Gulf decal sets, etc. plus the usual t-shirts and hats. I'm planning on getting the t-shirts to supporting members at sign up or renewal so I hope that everyone will end up with something nice to have. Still some months away, but I think it'll be a nice addition and non-obtrusive.

Wife finally laid down the law. She said "You've spent over 4 years fooling with that forum and you don't even have a GT40!!!! So, either quit messing with it, or try and do something with it useful that I can see!" Well, still don't have a 40 and I won't quite messing with it as she puts it, so I figured I best maybe generate a little income on the side for efforts. At least I'll give it a go and maybe collect some hard to source items in one place for owner/builders to use and have for builds.

Ron,

An excellent idea! Being a "store owner",
maybe you could quit your day job! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

BTW, how are the JH & the Z coming along?

Funny you should mention that Bill! The Z got wrecked at Roebling road, we worked to repair her, then at Carolina Motor Sports park we found out the diff had gone south in the crash and we didn't know it. So, that put us out.

Our TR8 munched a motor about two months ago and it is finally back in the car soon the be racing again.

And the Jensen Healey, well, I just finished with the rebuild of the motor about two weeks ago and it is now in the car. I'm tidying up wiring and some other odds and ends and will probably fire it up for the first time tonight or tomorrow. It has been a long road on that one!!!

We are also building two spec Miatas (one is finished and we're racing it frequently) and will enter three cars in the 13 hour Enduro at VIR this fall. Between then and now we'll be using the Sprint races and 1.5-2 hour Enduros to shake them all down. We've actually got a team coming from the UK that runs Max 5 there to rent one of our Miatas in the 13 hour, so it should be a blast. We'll have one or two open seats available if there are any racers that wish to run with us - we've a good car, placing 5th place last year with our first Enduro ever. Had we had pit stops timed well we could have easily pulled a 3rd or 2nd, but we lost sooooooo much time with our amatuer driver and fuel stops.

Anyhow, so things are progressing. I've also got a Jag V12 in the garage about 1/2 apart for the XJ13 and have my Ford motor torn down too so that I can beef it up for a solid roller cam with a lot more lift and duration - it'll be fun!

I'm also working on a peliter driver cooling device I might market, lighted roundels using electroluminescent polymers for cars, and a live video feed camera that is cheap for racers, although I am running into folks having to have an FCC operators licence for that one. In short, I'm busy around here!

Wish I could quit my day job, but I need that cash to fund my daughter, wife, and what I can scape up for these silly car hobbies!

Ron
