cut outs in the mud guards

Guys,

Will be ready to make the first pass at the cut outs for the rear suspension in the inner wall of the rear clip in the next couple of days. Might call them the "mud guards." (Seriously, if these inner walls have a formal name ... please let me know what it is.)

Any things to watch out for, or things that are smart to do? Don't have a pattern, so I'll have to "wing it." Commments will help.

Very much thanks,

Mike

There are a few options here probably. But basically you will have to calculate how far the top drag link and top cross link will come up when the suspension is fully compressed. You may have to also allow for the hand brake cable.

As to how - you can cut verticle slots in the inner guard for the suspension and brake components. Allow some clearance around the parts because the rubber bushes will allow the suspension components to move around a bit.

Alternatively you can make a single cut out which encompases all the moving parts.

The RF website www.roaringforties.com.au has a picture in the gallery section with the name "rear clip detail". Have a look at that.

Regards

John
