Dashboard Covering.

Hi all

Can someone explain what the covering is that has to go on the raw fiberglass dashboard. I say has to because the rules I have to comply with say I must have a dash with a soft impact absorbing cover. What sort of business does this sort of work? Has anyone covered their dash themselves? with what and how is it done? Thanks.

Hi Fred

To comply with the Australian ADR'S the top and front of the dash that a person's head could come into contact with in the event of a collision must be covered in an impact absorbing material (ie: a very dense foam ).

The area requiring covering on a GT40 dash is the top extending over the front lip.

There are a few companies that can do this.

In Sydney there is company called, Department Of The Interior, they cover consoles and instrument panels and they did my dash.

I believe there is also a company in Queensland that does them for DRB.

All the best

Dimi
