Dunlop vintage tires

In case someone is interested,I just bought above tires from a German racing company that were present in Spa recently.

Dunlop vintage 5,5 M15 for front approx 240 Euro piece

are these tyres street legal?
Iam presently looking for a complete set of tyres for my 15" wheels.
I just lost a rear tyre BF Goodrich BF 265/50 VR15 when it decided to go bang during pumping up.

Heck that must have made a loud bang when the tyre went!

I don't think the M section Dunlop tyres are street legal. Even some of the Post Historic tyres are marked not for road use so you do need to be careful in what you choose or....

Look up Avon tyres. They do a historic looking radial that really is quite good. CR5? Certainly better than the Goodrich that you had before. And it is E marked and so road legal. I think there is to be an article in the GTD 40 Car Club Magazine next issue on these tyres.

I intend to go from Dunlops to these Avons next time around to take advantage of stiffer side walls.

Correct,not road legal but the whole car is not 100% legal in Belgium so... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif
