Electric power steering pump

I would like to use a Subaru electric power steering pump with my Appleton (power steering) rack.

I see lots of mention of using an electric power steering pump on the various forums, but I can't find any technical info on how to do it.

Can anyone here give me any tips or info?

Here is an example

assume you have switched electrical power, a fluid source, a electric fluid pump

Plumb the pump outlet to the steering rack. Plumb rack fluid return to the fluid source.

Apply switched power to the electric pump motor while provide a fluid source to the inlet of the pump.

Go for a ride.
