Paul, marvelous stuff. Sadly, not a chance in the world anything like this happening today. Simpler times but in many ways better times. I was a young lad when this race took place. I recall driving a MK 1 rally car many years later. Loud, brutal, but bloody fun. A mate of mine had me drive the car back to Ipswich while he drove another car. And yes, I did get pulled over by the constabulary for a few things!
