If anyone is interested, I can check this car out for a forum member...it's in the next town from me, however, this thing has a "salvage" title here in CT. I would imagine it's the same in all 50 states, that the car has to be totaled and written off as road-usable to be classified as such. That de-values the vehicle drastically. Caveat emptor.

Interesting they are showing only "light damage" to the rear drivers side. From what you are saying A.J. There would surely have to be more under the skin to have attained a 'salvage' title?

I believe here in the US at least that if the owner had an insurance policy that included for instance diminished value after accident repair etc. and he chose to take a payout, even though damage might be light the insurance company having paid out full value would deem the car a 'total loss'. Hence it would have to be assigned a salvage title upon repair to be able to be re-titled.

That said a lot of these online insurance re-sellers don't show you the whole story in the photos, although this one is showing the car documented prior to repair and selling fully repaired. For some folks who want a driver at a good price, this may be an option, but always going to have a lower value.
