Its a bit odd, I'd understand going with a different make engine if sticking with a V12, not that many Ford V12's!
I'd also understand if outside the US, while there are quite a few Ford V8's in the UK there is nothing like the same availability (there is a good reason a load of UK cars use the Rover V8).
Still an impressive project. Good on him.
