Ford GT's and GT40's At Irvine C&C Sat Aug 4th!!!!

All,
We are having a huge Ford GT gathering here at the Ford-PAG Cars and Coffee on Saturday August 4th. If you haven't come to our "every Saturday" C&C you are missing out. On Aug 4th we will have over 100 Ford GTs coming from all over the country plus we are expecting GT40s(Superformance is bringing 6 MK2s and 2 MK1 continuation cars). Word is getting out fast and we also hope to have some interesting people here connected to the original GT40. Camillo Pardo, designer of the Ford GT will also be here. Everyone is welcome and it's free. If you have a Ford GT, a GT40 (kit, continuation or real) you will be able to park in the "Featured Marque" area which on this day we will open up the front and the lobby of the building. There will still be over 250 spaces for other marques. To find out where we are and to see images of past Saturdays just click the links.

If you have any questions or if you have a large group of GT40s coming, please let me know so we can give you an area to show your cars. C&C is normally 6:30am-9:30am but on the 4th I would recommend arriving early and we will be ending later!!!

The Saturday "Cars and Coffee" events are worth the effort...truly some amazing cars are always there.

I plan to bring my BEC GT40 and hope that others will be there too.

Coincidentally, I'll be in San Diego that weekend, which is much closer than the East Coast where I normally can be found. So I'll be there. Look for the scruffy guy with glasses, wearing a white cap with a GT40 logo, and probably carrying a green daypack. Please introduce yourself.

My wife and I just made a reservation for Friday night in Irvine (she's been there before, so she's very insistent that we get a "lima bean" room at a local hotel that was built in a grain silo).

Jack,

Looking forward to meeting you and seeing your GT40! As an option, if we know by Friday we can possibly group some CAV's together. Superformance has 10-12 cars coming so far.

All,

If you are planning to come with a Ford GT or GT40 please arrive early(5am would be great) so we can help get you placed around the front of our building. Trust me, it will be worth it. We are expecting the largest gathering of Ford GT's ever. This is so when our "normal" Cars and Coffee crowd comes you're all parked. Otherwise it will be a huge "GT" traffic jam.

See you all tomorrow,
Freeman

Okay ... This explains the parade of GTs coming and going all day since yesterday.

I work up on the second floor of the big black building on MacArthur and Michelson in Irvine. My office looks straight down onto the intersection.

You guys are killing me here. I'm trying to concentrate on work, and I keep hearing these deep ominous BRUM noises going one direction, then swinging back the other way towards the freeway.

I'm talking to people on the phone and only half listening because my brain is mostly focused on staring longingly at the striped beauties taunting me for hours on end.

You might as well have just hired supermodels to walk back and forth in front of my window in their underwear all day. The torment level would be roughly the same.

Well, that was well worth the drive down from Topanga.... jeez louise there was a shedload of GTs there.... a sight to behold.

I confess to still being partial to the Heritage paint scheme on the new GTs... if only because the other color offerings seem so pedestrian, and the "Heritage" blue seems to "pop" more than the "real" Gulf blue, which seems a bit pale sometimes.

But seeing the Superformance mk1 roller in gulf trim was the most impressive thing there. I know it's been said before, but the fit and finish are remarkable. The car absolutely looks like a manufactured, OEM unit. Just fantastic!

Thank you Freeman for hosting this event!

I had a great time meeting new people and seeing all those GTs in one place! I did not see any original early GT40s, but I hope our replicas and recreations gave a sense of heritage.
I appreciate you giving us this event to participate.

Cheers, Jack

Jack,

It was a pleasure to see so many GT40's and Ford GT's! it was packed! This Saturday the "Featured Marque" is Triumph and Dodge is bringing out their Challenger Concept vehicle.

Looks like a great event! I have installed my new uprights and heavy duty alxe/cv's and will be on the road after I align the car today.
If anybody is going to attend this event in the future I will be able to go.
Otherwise we will see you in Monterey next week.
