Forum Divisions

It is the weekend and I have a little time to work on the forum.

I propose the following - We divide the Tech Section into two portions:

Tech Talk 1 - Engines, Induction, Drivetrains, etc.

Tech Talk 2 - Chassis, Suspension, brakes, body

The names and divisions can be adjusted with your feedback.

What say folks, I'd like a few yeas or nays by the end of the day.

If we do this the current Tech will turn into the first Tech Talk, so a few posts will look out of place. But, I dont' want to delete them and moving them is a BIG PAIN.

Given the fairly small size of the forum, I don't see a need for further differentiation of tech threads, as it simply means more hopping around is required. I would instead advocate an archive, where more sub-topics would be good.

Ron,
If you're going to do that then you might as well divide the car into segments such
as,... Mechanical, suspension, electrical,
body and paint, and fuel systems. Mechanical
would cover engines and trans' and what ever
else that fits the catagory. Suspension
would deal with just that including brakes.
You could even include interiors.
Just a thought o'buddy.

This would sure keep the board a little
more orginized and make it much easier to
find info you want to know.

Ron, that seems like a really good move. Two segments to start with, & maybe if things get a bit hectic, a later move to further splits.

I think that the concept of targeted sections works best - I'll know where to go if I have a question, & where to go if I have a few tips to offer. As we all progress through the build process (all at different stages at different times), we should be able to offer help in specialised areas to the new guys as we master each particular area. Rather than having a massive forum topic with all the little "gems" buried in the mists of time, we should end up with smaller topics which span a longer time frame with fewer posts, and which are more focussed.

Good Move !!
