Four wheel drive options

Hi and help wanted please.
I am wanting to build a rear/mid engine but 4 wheel drive. Tye same kind of set up at and Audi r8. But to make a 4 wheel drive classic race car. Other than Audi R8 and Lamborghini, is there a set up like Thais that is much more common and actually affordable?? I thought maybe tger would be an Audi 01 4WD box that tgere could be a transfer box to fit and front diff from another car ????

I think you will be better off buying r8 parts from a salvageyard rather than reinventing the wheel.
You need the graziano layout so you can run a shaft basically through the oilsump and forward.

Another option you could consider is to take a transverse fwd driveline and put it longitudinal.
Instead of driveshafts to the wheels you go to two differentials.
You will need to sort the gearing in some way as you will get a double set of final drives...

Possibly some Porsche 911 4WD systems but that makes it rear engine not mid engine so balance could be terrible
