Front upper and lower wishbones needed

Hi @ all,

Searching for a full set of wishbones, for gt40 mk1 front (lower/upper).

Maybe from gtd, kva, tornado, etc.

Good Used condition is okay!

Pls. Make an offer if you can help.

Thanks so much
Chris

Before buying wishbones i think you should consider what uprights etc to use and what chassis they shall fit. Wishbones to original dimensions will not fit a kit car spaceframe.

Ford Granada mk2 front uprights with vented discs, with GTD arms work well, but the mounting points top and bottom rail and caster are critical for it to work, as it is with choice of steering rack type and its location in regards to the uprights steering arms.
Most use Escort or Cortina racks, and some Superformance builds use an MGB rack for some reason fitted onto brackets instead of the original type rack.

Best of luck

Very sorry but I sold the set I had very recently. However I can post some pics with a tape measure next to them so you can get the dimensions if it would help. Do you just need the front suspension parts? Do you have the info for the top and bottom swivel joints
Cheers

Here attached are the pics of the GTD front wishbones with tape measure. You should be able to get the dimensions from these. I will look up the Granada MK2 front suspension info.

Mike. That's really great information. I am currently making new A-arms for my GTD so I can incorporate rod ends. I finished up the rear of the car and now will start on the front. You saved me a lot of work! Thanks!!!!!!

I don't know if the Cortina Mk3 upright and Granada Mk2 upright are the same but I suspect not. The Cortina used 4 bolt hubs and the Granada uses 5 bolt hubs. Anyway here is a dimensioned drawing of the Cortina upright.

Pinto/Mustang II spindles would seem to be an option if you're flexible on control arm mounting. LOTs of aftermarket support for them as well.

I’d need to check, but I think the Australian Cortinas that got the 4.1 litre 6 cylinder engine had a different front upright with a bigger bearing.

Yep, the TE/TF Cortina had 0.750” and 1.250” ID bearings. Same uprights used in RF1’s
