FYI - P/1080 to be auctioned at Mecum Monterey (Aug 2024)

P/1080 is set to cross the auction block at Mecum Monterey in Aug 2024 (exact date TBA).

It is one of seven lightweight factory competition GT40s built with an aluminum roof and spare wheel cover, lightweight panels, and is powered by a 289 engine with Gurney-Weslake heads. This car was raced extensively in period by Emilio Marta, in Angola and Portugal, winning the Angolan Championship in 1973.

The winky-dink switch is just a toggle switch, off in the center, on to two different loads in the lateral position.

Good point, maybe the stalk on the column is just a high beam dimmer?

The column switch is the standard GT40 flasher switch.

That's where the turn signal switch on 1030 is located. It has a sleeve (a Lucas part) over the toggle switch to extend the switch to make it easier to flip the switch with your hand on the steering wheel.

The column switch dips the lights.
