G50 Trans mount

This is a ACAD "solids" drawing of a '90 and later G50 transaxle mount.

This is for the trans that has the back mount cut off to clear the body and needs another mount fabricated to mount the rear of the transaxle.

This was discussed at length in THIS thread, just thought I'd move it to a more relevant category, since the thread migrated to this topic.

This mount bolts to the 3 (8mm) lower center case bolts (after trans is flipped). Of course you have to use longer bolts.

The two single hole steel brackets are welded to the existing chassis. The 4 hole steel plate bracket bolts to the chassis to facilitate easier trans removal.

Acad file available on PM request. You can download a free ACAD viewer and take patterns/dims from there. I may dimension this if there's enough demand.

From Aldan shock absorbers. (they don't have a web site) Although they are probably available elsewhere.

The actual bushings are black, their just blue in the drawing for visibility. As urethane goes they are on the stiff side.

Kalun,

The one that came with my car for a G50 had a 90º foot on the bottom. I put two donuts under each end of the foot and then through bolts from the top of the foot through a cleat welded to the frame rail. It sat against the frame rail which stops any fore and aft movement as well as any twisting. However, I didn't like that it would transmit vibration through the frame, so I put 3 layers of extremely thin rubber sheeting between the metal.
