George from Kingston Upon Thames,

Hi everyone,

Just dropping a line to introduce myself and say a big THANK YOU for the acceptance!

So happy to be part of the GT40 family, even if I am nowhere near (financially) of getting one. Still working my way towards it and of course admiring and collecting info on the car and it’s surrounding legacy since childhood.

I bleed red (huge Ferrari fan) nevertheless my heart has a big place and love for the GT40 also.

Looking forward to surf the posts, learn a lot, hopefully meet some of you guys (UK/Surrey based) and find out as much as possible on what’s like driving, owning and running/maintaining a GT40. In hope that one day I’ll get to do the same.

Thank you once again for the acceptance, feeling blessed for joining the “ride”.

Best wishes

George

Welcome to GT40's George. There is a huge following of the GT40 in the UK. There appears to be several clubs there that have meetings. I'm pretty sure one of those members will chime in and let you know when and where you could take in one of those meetings.
There is a ton of information in the members build logs. It will take you a long time to read all of them. Please enjoy the forum.

Regards Brian

Welcome. You might like to join the GT40 Enthusiasts Club. There will be a group near you. You don't need a 40 to be a member. I joined before I had a car. You will get 4 magazines a year and can meet members who have cars to check out and who have a lot of expertise and knowledge. Also lots of local and national events.
Cheers
Mike

Hi Mike,

Thanks for the heads up on the Club. I will certainly do join, hopefully get to meet some of the members and also see a GT40 from up close (never seen one in metal before). I have noticed they have quite the activity around the country and in motor shows so I’ll catch up to them in one of them also.

Thanks for the warm welcome

George

Hi Ian,

Thanks for the link. I’ll certainly have a gander into it and hopefully attend a Club meeting.

Welcome George - pop along to the pub on Weds this week if you're free. (About 30 mins down the A3 from Kingston) We usually have a couple of 40s in the car park if the weathers nice.

Thanks for the warm welcome Paul and also the local club meeting invite which I’ll definitely attend at some point sadly not this time as I’ll be on shift at work. Hopefully the next one will be me on my days off and it will be nice to meet with all of you.

Best regards

George
