GT40 P/1065 for sale

£425,000 seems alot of money for a car that was has no race history. However, I believe it has been restored to a high standard.
Simon, if you can make an appointment to view the car I would be interested to come along.

............and an advert in Motor Sport.

I bet the high price is due in part to Ford's new GT car. The car has gained great publicity of late with the unveiling of the new GT.

Just a guess though

Less than two years ago it changed hands for 2/3 this amount ! In the years prior to that there had been various sale/no sales at about the UK£ 250 / USD 400 mark - the restoration I think was before this period too

Prototype.

Actually it's Production.

The cars with chassis numbers in the 100 range (101 - 112) were the prototypes. The cars in the 1000+ range (1000 - 1114) are considered to be production models.

(The chassis numbers come from Ronnie Spain's book)

Does anyone know if the valve covers that say " Cobra " on them if they are original or copies of the original ones. I have never seen an original with valve covers like that.
