GT40 questions

Hi, I am thinking of buying a GT40 in the near future. I currently own a 300ZX which is being built to 600HP & I am now torn between getting the work finished or buying a GT40 replica which I realise I can now afford.

I'm looking to spend <£20k on a completed car, what can expect to get for this amount of cash? Anyone have any specs for different engine types?

Anyone in my local area (Wilts, UK) have one I would be able to look at? Still haven't seen one in the flesh

Thanks

Used GTD40s come up in your area in the UK from time to time, there are several folks on the Forum knowledgeable about them, you should be able to find something in that range. Good luck and have fun.

Jay,

You'll get a complete, running, stock (ie 302/R21T, air con, leather) GTD for under 20K, altho the asking price is often higher.

You occasionally see KVA's, Mk1's seem to ask more than Mk3's for some reason.

Price will increase with spec & finish depends entirely on the skills of the builder.

Expect to pay 30K upwards for a fully sorted GTD. this is probably the best value, as many builders throw money at the cars. High spec builds often cost 40K+, some even higher, but this is never reflected in the re-sale value.

The GT40 Enthusiasts Club can help you. We have members in yuor area who wil be hapy to speak to you and give you advice.

Lokk at gt40enthusiastsclub.com or e-mail me direct for more info

Kit Car magazine has had a few examples for sale recently. I beleive there was a KVA up for sale in Kent around 19K mark.

Just flicking through Feb's issue has a GTD in the New Forest up for 24K.
