GT40 specialist in the Netherlands / Belgium

Just looking for a good, reliable adres to go to when I need to get something done.
For now the car is running great. I just have a bit of oil leakage I don't know yet where it comes from. The other thing is that with the airco on the engine stalls when running stationary. One fuel-gauge doesn't work and the other shows 3/4 full instead of completely full.
I got a PM from Eddie Wynne, but the problem is that he is located in Friesland (which is completely the other side of our country as I am in Middelburg). Otherwise he could be the perfect guy.

You could try Jon Kox, the Dax agent. He is very good and very familiar with kit cars, and is always coming to and from the UK so if you ever needed a UK specialist to work on the car Jon would be a great contact for that too.

D.

If I got you wright, Jon Kox is located in the UK?
That is too far for what I am looking for.
If I go across to the UK I will go to Wealden Engineering Development as they are true GT40 specialists. They actually did the rebuild of my car in 2003/2004.

Thanks for your thoughts anyway!

Gj,

Send me a pm
I have 2 friends owing a GTD 40 and they may be of any help to you.
Both are serious mecanics and live in Belgium (arround Bornem and Geeraardsbergen).

Success.

Thanks everyone. Looks there are some good places to go to. I'll keep them in mind.
I still hope to find a good address nearby Middelburg (lets say within about 100km).
Hopefully one of the addresses from Fred will work out for me.

We'll see.

Claude Dubois (in Brussels) was the original distributor for the GT40 on the European continent; his shop sold and serviced a few cars. Some of his mechanics are still around and are still looking after cars such as these. I can put you in touch if you haven't found a solution yet?

Mike,Geert,

I know Claude Dubois and the only mecanic who, I believe, is sill active on racing and vintage cars is Fred Martin (mobile 0476 43115).

He is the one who reconstructed my Mexican block 302 with Edelbrock head an IDA48 Webers.Very powerfull and reliable make (for road and track).

He is more specialized in engines but also works on cars.

Noter however he works in his own house garage and has not a lot of space to work on the cars (it takes some time depending on previous orders).

You can always call him with my regards.

Fred
