GTD inner tub

OH boy....first post!
Have most GTD owners utilised the GRP inner tub on their builds, or have they panelled in ally?

Simon,

Best use for the GTD inner tub ............ garden fishpond.

Totally agree Graham, although I'm not sure it's even any good for that!!

Simon,
It doesn't fit, looks god damn awful & is a complete waste of money. You're better off buying a couple of sheets of Ali & if you fit the panels yourself will be far cheaper. Only my opinion.

Simon,

Seriously though, forget all about the GRP tub. Paul is right about its fit and looks but it will afford little in the way of fire protection and even less in chassis rigidity.

Fish pond agreed...........but would it hold any water? I don't know if this is typical, but this is what I did.

So, I'll fess up. I did use the fiberglass tub on my build. I WOULD NOT AGAIN. I was following the "build manual" and it said put it in so I did. I my defence it was my first "kitcar" project an I didn't know better. Panel it it alli, you will end up with a nice finished interior. If I did another one I would leave it bare without any carpet just like the racecar.
