GTM Belgium

but is this car really an original as they say in the website?
If they will come to Monza for Intereuropa Cup in June 2005 i will surely take some pictures of it.2yrs ago there was a yellow mk2 french one.Cannot say if that was an original or not, anyway seem so.

The car does not look original to me. I don't claim to know all, but I've never seen an original chassis with riveted panels. The front section does not have the proper exit for the cooling hoses, etc. Also, GT 111 was a roadster.

David Hodges book:
FORD GT40, an anglo american supercar classic
Mrp Publishing

chassis 111:
Open car. FAV. Crashed (driven by Bondurant)in 1965 Targa Florio.Returned to FAV, assumed scrapped.

The only thing I know after meeting the latest owner is that this car has his FIA papers.
The jury is out

[/ QUOTE ]

The presence of FIA papers should not be taken as any indication that a car is original or authentic. Some GT40s masquerading as original cars but that are complete fakes, or "bitsa" cars with a few original parts but phony everything else, have acquired FIA papers. The only way that the jury could be out on this car is if it hasn't looked at it, or has but knows nothing about original GT40s.

and we already found a swiss gt40 (probably a KWA) claimed as an original #1066 with FIA paper and for sale at 150.000 euros.
I asked them by email some infos about the history of this anyway nice car.No answers at all to me until today.

Well, fake or not, I quite like the way it's been put together.
