Hello from North Carolina

Bare with me guy's or ladies, this is new to me. I recently purchased a Avenger 15, however the guy I got it from set the body on a VW chassis. Unfortunately it's a hack job, I am wanting to scrap everything and start with the body, and build a custom chassis. I have a high performance sandrail that weighs more than the car and will pull the tires off the ground in 2nd, I'm wanting to use the rear independent suspension from the rail and the turbo charged type4 engine, however I'm not wanting to pull the front tires on the car, I would like it to handle like a road car. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome aboard Rick. You're kind of in the same situation I am (or was?). I basically fabricated an entirely new chassis which will have a highly modified body placed on top of it. I basically kept what I wanted on the chassis I used (ended up being only about 10%), but during the "cut and build" sessions, it did provide a base from which to work with. But doing this also takes a lot of forethought in order to get everything you need without letting the existing design "contaminate" or bias your design process.

Ric. My name is Sam in Statesville NC. I have a Fiberfab GT12 (1969) that I have been working on. Let me know if I can be of any help. I've most of the mechanicals, VW power, and working on the body.
I am buying a GTD GT40 already built and need to sell my project.
Sam
