Hi everyone!

Hi everyone! My name is Richard, and I'm from California. Just wanted to introduce myself.

About me:
I've owned a lot of different cars over the years. Right now I race a Porsche Cup car, and I recently sold my Audi R8. Before that I've had supercharged Corvettes, a manual Gallardo, a Porsche GT2, a McLaren, and plenty of other fun cars. I usually buy the cheapest examples I can find, sometimes ones that aren't even running, fix them up, enjoy them for a while, and then move on to the next project.

But through all those cars, the one I've always regretted selling was a GT40 kit car I had back in high school.

It was built on a Pontiac Fiero with the Fiero drivetrain, so I know it wasn't anywhere close to the real thing. But at the time it was as close as I could get to owning a GT40, and I absolutely loved it. Looking back, I wish I had never sold it.

It's funny because I've owned cars that were much faster, more expensive, and far more exotic, yet that little GT40 replica is still the one that stuck with me. I think that says a lot about how special the GT40 is.

My wife and I were talking recently after I sold a couple of cars, and she asked me what my dream car really was. Not the fastest or the most expensive, but the one I'd want to own long term. Without even thinking about it, I said, "A GT40."

To me, it's the most beautiful car ever designed. Nothing else has ever come close.

I'm excited to be part of this community and learn from everyone here. Hopefully I'll be able to join you all as an owner before too long. I'm in no rush, but if anyone knows of a GT40 for sale in the U.S., especially somewhere on the West Coast, I'd definitely be interested in taking a look
:)

Looking forward to getting to know everyone, and following some cool builds
