Iowa?

Anyone from Iowa on here? I'm located on Iowa's east coast (Quad Cities) and have been chipping away at a Active Performance project for a year now.

GT40 owners are few and far between out here in Flyover Country, but there are a few.
I'm in Des Moines. I know of several GT40s of various manufacture.
Are you planning a trip to Pittsburgh for the Reunion this summer?

If my car was done, I would load it up and head that way....but that wont be for a couple of years!

I think you should reconsider. This will be the best '40 reunion EVER.

Most of the actual race cars will be there, as well as the drivers. Vendors, vintage racing, banquet with guest speakers, etc. People are coming from Europe and elsewhere. Original cars and replicas of all makes.

Seeing all the cars and talking with their owners would be the best medicine for a car under construction...

I wish, but probably not in the cards for me. Hopefully there are a few owners that document the whole thing with lots of reference photos.

I came across a photo of a GT40 on Lateral-g.net from the last Good Guys event in Des Moines. It had interesting Polk County plates on it.

Greetings from central Iowa! I currently don’t have a GT40 but it has always been my dream car since I was a kid racing my GT40 slot car (still have it) on the race track against my dad and brother. I recently purchased SPO1510 Cobra MKlll from Josh at Downforce Motorsports in WI and had a great time with it at Good Guys earlier this month. I’ll be going to Pittsburgh for the reunion and will be staying at the campground in my car.

Doug I have some friends that bleed Ford Blue that know you and was shown pictures of your CSX Cobra that you had. I’m trying to decide the route I want to go with for valve covers and breather for my FE motor and liked what you had on yours.

Rusty how did your cross-country drive from Downforce Motorsports back to Iowa go? You still planning on driving it to Pittsburgh as well? I will be living vicariously through both of you and your GT40’s here in central Iowa…at least until I win the PowerBall or sell a LOT of my stuff.

Kevin-
Greetings. I haven’t owned a csx cobra, so not sure if you have the right guy. The drive was great. I’m not going to Pittsburg. I’m thinking you gave me confused with another person. No worries! Have a great day.
Rusty

Rusty I just spoke to Josh and he told me that you wouldn’t make it to Pittsburgh but that you did make it up to Road America and had a great time. Will you be going to the Des Moines Concourse de Elegance car show coming up or any other local car shows? Love the picture of your GT40 and look forward to seeing it in person someday.

Sorry for the confusion on the CSX Cobra but that was intended for Doug Dyar.
