I was reading the May 1967 issue of Car and Driver last night, which has a nice article on the J-car. It has a few items I don't recall seeing elsewhere in print,
but I could be wrong.
For instance they quote Roy Lunn as saying
the reason they did not make the original
GT40 chassis out of aluminum was their time constraint, a problem they did not face
with the J-car.
They quote 370 lb for the MK II chassis weight and 180 lb for the J-car.
Makes you wonder how many more races the GT40/MK II would have won if they weighed
190 lbs less.
