KVA Windscreen wanted

Hi, Just started the winter stripdown, and as we removed the windscreen, it cracked.

I've done a Search and found the thread from earlier this year.

Anything changed since then?

Hi Geoff

On UK based GT40 replicas there appear to be 3 windscreens with slightly different curvatures.

The main differences are brtween what are called GTD and Tornado windscreens where, from memory the Tornado curves slightly more at the top than the GTD.

That said with some work on the fiberglass I believe either can be made to fit either car - but how much work do you want to do and possibly mess up the paint work?

I believe someone had started a thread on here where windscreen fitments were listed but I cannot find the thread at present - from memory someone in the USD started it (Howard Jones?)

In short I do not know which screen (Tornado or GTD) is easier to fit into a KVA

Perhaps a call to Frank Catt would help as he has probably seen more GT40's and repaired them than anyone else in the country

I had a KVA body and most of the screens available were not a very good fit but could be made to with a bit massaging of the aperture. I believe that actual KVA exact shape windscreens can be obtained from Graham Kelsey who has a buck for KVA screens. The best way to contact him would be via Roy Smart.
