It just crossed my mind....nearly 45 years ago, with only 400 odd horsepower, the original 40 was attaining 220 odd mph down the Mulsanne.
Somewhere, they have lost the plot... How sad.

You have to remember this car is doing it from a standing start, where the Le Mans cars were doing about 70-100mps coming out of Terte Rouge. The Le Mans cars were a lot lighter as well.

So 0-250mph in 1 mile, thats pretty impressive.

And the Mulsanne was 6km long before the chicanes.
 
Either way the drivers of both era's are pushing the boundrys.
That is what made/makes the GT40/GT is today/tomorrow (if that makes sense). :drunk::drunk::drunk:

How street friendly that 2000hp is will be another question. I mean, pro-stock dragsters run 2000-4000HP. Top Fuelers run 8000HP. This GT may be 2000hp, and yeah, you can sit in it and drive it but still.... impressive? I think the previous ones mentioned are more impressive and probably just as street friendly.
