Lot of car for the money?

I had one 7 Years ago! Paid around £4K. It was a low mileage 'R' reg so that would make it 96/97. I did some private hire work in it but it was a non starter as British Racing Green with tinted windows was hardly conducive to weddings & the like. It had every conceivable electronic gizmo at a time before silicone chips were highly developed so you end up with a car with literally miles of cables and clicking relays. Servicing could not be done by the average Joe and an average service would cost £1,500. It drove like a yacht and I didn't like it one little bit especially the fuel mileage or lack of it. Quite why anyone would pay £125,000 for it escaped me then and now it was just a stupid car. I was glad to get shot of it, lambswool and all..

Sorry Nick..... :shifty:

Those cars were extremely complex as Keith points out... A friend had one that he spent ages working on.. Electrical troubles from end to end..

Keith no need to apologise the world would be a boring place if we all liked the same cars.

I would have to say in defense that yours and Randy's friend's cars were obviously built on a Friday afternoon whereas this one was built just after the workers got a pay rise so will be fine. Jack's pos comment is because being in Florida he spends a lot of time in the sun
.

I did once own an S2 Bentley that was not very good and I should not have bought and a 1932 Rolls 20/25 which I should have kept. They were both fantastic cars to drive despite the Bentley's failings and the brides loved them, apart from one and that's a long story but to cut it short apparently I ruined her honeymoon.

Although I concede they are cheap for a reason, but the only way is up.

My neighbor inherited one. Nightmare to keep running properly. Braking system, electrical, aircon, etc. I told him to remove the body and install it on a Chevy truck!

What!!!!! Philistine that's almost as bad as the guy who seriously told me I should remove my period straight eight sidevalve Hudson engine from my 1935 Brough and fit a V8 Buick engine.

I am unable to repeat what I told him.

He had so many issues that he was selling the car "as is" anyway.
Someone actually bought it for $10K and had it towed off. I think he was intending to part it out.
