Thanks for the heads up. I was there Friday at the auction and saw all three. The lightweight is next to the Ferrari 250 and next to a Daytona Coupe "continuation".

Bill, I can't answer questions but this MKII was at the GT40s reunion.....

Cars was brought by https://www.gaswerksgarage.com/ - I can't find information on their website but if you do a google search you can find some information.....

• P/1018 - DID NOT SELL at a high bid of $5.3 million USD
• P/1085 - DID NOT SELL at a high bid of $2.2 million USD
• XGT-3 - SOLD at a hammer price of $11.25 million USD plus buyer's premium

Hi Chris ...... hope you are good. You made me have a close look at the photo. I think it looks OK. A MkII with the large air intake side scoops, plus the periscope intakes for the rear brakes, always make the MK11 look different from a low down side profile. Also as I'm sure you know there are many different rear clip shapes ..... some with wider arches.
The price achieved by XGT3 was certainly eye popping ....... I thought it would be circa $8-10 million. Has anyone said where it went. Could be another one I need to hunt down on the next trip stateside (assuming us Brits will still be welcome !!!!!)

MK1 vs MK11,,, Both front and rear clams where very different from day 1 !!!
I think the concept is that CAV has a big droop on both MKI/MKII rear clams compared to gen or most other replicas. Once seen it cannot be unseen. For me it's like looking at a FF Type 65 vs the gen or other rep Daytona Coupes - the difference cannot be unseen.

UPDATE: P/1018 is being offered again at Mecum Indianapolis on May 16, 2026.
Did it even make it to the block this time ? No because it looks like they were trying for a 'direct purchase' but has it sold now ?

Mecum recently added this to the online catalogue: "This vehicle will be available via direct purchase during Dana Mecum's 39th Original Spring Classic in Indianapolis. The vehicle will be on-site at the Spring Classic auction for inspection and purchase for the duration of the event, and purchase arrangements can be made directly in-person with on-site representatives of the Mecum Bid Goes On staff or by calling (262) 275-5764. A 10% buyer premium applies."

I'm also interested to know whether it sold. However, the Mecum website doesn't confirm if it did and, if so, at what price.

Does anyone else here happen to have the answer?
