Monocoque Chassis Builders

Did I miss something over the last few months? About a year back there was some serious talk about John Hester and his new company. We even had pictures of the new chassis. What happened to this operation? Has it folded or changed its name? I have seen nothing about this much anticapated new mono and can't seem to find their web site.

40Bud,
John is hanging in there. He has written up a heck of a business case and is in the long hard search for venture capital so that once he is open for business, he can do it right. I believe the mono chassis you saw is nearly complete, if not done. He has the beta version in cad ready to go. He has sourced all the parts that he isn't building himself (he is going to manufacture the vast majority of the parts.) He has the ability to build any version of the MkI or MkII with all the accessories like door eyebrows, Gurney Bump, dive planes for the nose, snorkels, rear flares(wide hips;-) side window, etc, etc. And when I say MkII, I don't mean a modified MkI, but a true MkII.

In the meantime, if anyone needs some one to build, finish or sort their car out, send him an email at [email protected]

Lynn, thanks for the update. Glad to hear the project is still kicking. I hope John is successful in finding his backing! Anyone have any info on any other US potential builders such as the earlier discussed projects in Iowa and Utah?
