Scott T - if you want, we can drive down together.

Ian

Ian - I'll probably already be down in the Bay Area, otherwise I'm definitely up for carpooling.
i'll know more as things firm up.

Scott

Scott T and Ian,

I talked to Bud yesterday. The plan is for April 19th (If there is no rain!). I am hoping for sometime between 9AM - 2PM.

Patrick will be at Bud's house. May be from there we can all meet at a large parking lot or something, (Foster Freez in Dublin)?!! Bud, what do you think?

April 19th sounds good. I will e-mail Bud and meet everyone somewhere in Pleasanton. As for the weight of my car with the kevlar/carbon fiber body, I don't know but will try to find out. Maybe Bob Lacy knows the actual weight savings.

Great!

Bud, I'll send you email for directions to your
place if the plan is to meet at your place
and go from there. You're not at **** Ct.
still are you?

I edited to remove the street name. Not sure if
you want it public.

Ian

The 19th is a Saturday, which means the Bay Area Cobra Club will be having its weekly breakfast at Athens Burgers early that morning. If you guys showed up there with some 40s, you'd have a TON of admirers!

Tom,

What time do the Cobra guys meet at the Burger joint?! I wouldn't mind going there for a few minutes and give them a bad time

. May be I can convince my wife to drive the Cobra as well.

Ian I am still at the same old place.Get of of 580 at Airway and come by the airport to the stop light. Make a right and follow thru two lights - at the third light (Conncanon)go left past a stop light and to the next street on your left-El Padro, left on El Padro thru the stop sign and the next street will be Lido Dr. Take a right to 650. Look for the little red pickup on the right. I think Pat plans on being hrer about 11:15 and once we meet up we will head over to Farhads and Howards.

Thanks Bud. I didn't want to put Lido
out for public view. I don't even
remeber where I got that from - maybe
Kit Car's article on Rick's GTD

Anyway, I am going straight to Howard's.
I don't think I'd be able to keep up with
you guys !!! My Integra is quick, but not
40 quick. Anyway, I have to pick up my
Kings tickets that morning, so I might
run a little late.

See you all there.

Ian

Well, I just want to say what a blast I had
Saturday!!

Thanks for the hospitality Howard/Dennis,
and it was great getting to meet all of
you in person (especially Bud). The cars
looked great - Farad's was a beautiful black
with Gulf flares, and we've seen pix of
Pat's CAV and Bud's GTD. Howard's is a red
diamond in the rough, but all 4 sound
awesome. I got a lot out of talking with
everyone. Some great stories, both 40
related and not (a 100 year old on a bike
wanting to go 100 mph - yeah, that still makes
me chuckle - what would a cop say! Heh heh.

Bud and I took some photos, I will work on
getting mine online over the next week.

We'll have to do it again, and Howard - if you
ever need a hand just to move things around
on a weekend, give me a holler!

Thanks to all who were there - Howard, Bud, Pat,
Farad, Scott T. Who did I miss? I'm still a little
awe-struck

Howard, thanks for being a great host to all of us crazies. It was great to meet some of the guys and see some of the other cars. I forwarded my pics to Scott. He tells me that he has the loading of pictures on the forum down to a fine art! I hope these little get togethers continue and maybe we can all find some other owners in our areas. We also had a nice guy - Pual - there with his nicely done Super Performance Cobra. It was also a good chance for some future owners to see how they fit into our roller skates! 6'3" fit fine in a GTD with a lowered floor and in the stock CAV. Pat was kind enough to take several people for rides in his Cav and I think they were favorably impressed! Again thanks Howard for being the good guy and letting us invade your place.

I was happy to do it. Thanks everyone for coming. I'm sure we will do it again. Can't wait to see the pictures. Bud could you e-mail me the pictures? Thanks, Howard

Ok - posted the pictures in a new topic

It turned out to be a great day of checking out GT40's! Howard, thanks for letting everyone drop by your place and thanks for the beer and burgers. Not only did we have four GT40's in one place, but also one Cobra and one 69 428SCJ Mach one. I actually got a ride in the Cobra, which is something I have wanted to do since high school. Looks like the start of the Nor Cal GT40's club!

Is it possible to be in said club without actually owning a GT40?

On another note, it is absolutely spectacular to see so many beautifal cars in 1 place. I notice that the hoods come in 2 different styles. What is the functional difference between them? Is there any?
