Newbe Needing Help

Hi all!

I'm a thirty year aircraft fabrication vet, that is standing at the door to retirement and being able to do "what I want to do" barring the wife's hunny-do list and spending time with the grandkids... nice to have extra wrench-turners to share your dreams with.

In a year from now (or sooner if I have my way), I plan to order my SLC or purchase an unfinished kit from a private party if possible.
I wish to build a street/track, so my wife and I can make the weekend cruise /car show, as well as pushing it around the track occasionally.

I have been trying to secure a Graziano 6 speed manual transaxle and engine (still on the fence between a supercharged LS or LT).
If anyone can point me in the direction of either, I would be truly grateful.

I've been getting alot of good information from watching YouTube (shout out to Joel K and Cam Thai) YouTube binging, we'll spent.

I'm always open to any helpful info, that will make my SLC fabrication journey easier!

Can't wait to start my adventure and make some new friends that share my passion for cars.

Hi Dan ... Transaxle suggestion : Albins AGB ... strongest transaxle available, especially if you are chasing big horsepower ...

I remember when I bought a brand new LS3 525 crate engine+ecu for $6,000CDN, which is like $4,000USD. And I got it 1 week after I ordered it ... today same thing is like $14k USD.
I'll call BS on that one. The first GM performance crate I bought was prior to the LS3/525 offering. At that point, the LS wiring/ecu/sensor package was $1800USD. No way you could ever get a 525 for $4k with electronics. Probably never could without the electronics. Last GM Performance engine I bought was last year and my local dealer was apologetic that it took 10 days to get here (they fumbled the shipping). Currently a LS3/525 is $8000 as a long block. Still a good deal.

Dunno what prices were previously, mine was $9k USD, not dressed and no electronics. That was just as Covid started, so late 2019?

Wanted to get some feedback on the Mendeola SDR5 transaxle. Does anyone have any hands-on experience with it, and would it work for a 500-750ish LS engine application?
