Newbie here with questions about starting

Hello,
I have had the GT-40 bug bite me extremely hard. Over the past few months I have been doing a lot of research into what it will take to build a GT-40. I have a lot of fabrication and engine building experience, however I have no GT-40 experience. From what I've gathered thus far, the chassis fabrication would not be a major issue for me, but gathering the body and incidentals is my major concern. I live here in Central Florida. Is there a way to obtain all or most of the body parts without having to pay an arm and a leg for them. Sadly, the poor economy has hit my pocket book. Any ideas or suggestion would be helpful.

Thanks

Although you might think fabricating a chassis is easy, it isn't. You need to know where the suspension points are located, where the engine/transmisison mounts are needed, and the body locating points. This is not easy unless you have a detailed set of chassis plans from somewhere.

as for the body, some manufactureres may sell you a body and nothing else. Others may not.

I understand the chassis in itself is a monumental undertaking. However, I do have two under my belt so far.

Problem is getting a body without paying a fortune in shipping from Australia or the UK. There are a few in the
USA with molds...but no one actively offering bodies that
I am aware. Try John Hester (GTSupercars)...he offered a body months ago.
