No there is a GT40 P/1046 purchased with that chassis number in Europe and verified by correct documents

You mean 1046 the 66 Le Mans winner? Pretty sure the ownership of that chassis number is pretty well documented, summarized here, a bit down the page:

Specifically:

"In 1982, chassis 1046 was bought by George Stauffer, a major player in the Cobra and Ford GT communities. Stauffer commissioned a restoration in the style of the day, which is to say primarily pragmatic and cosmetic, and it was widely exhibited and ran in vintage races. In 2010, Stauffer sold it for roughly $10 million to collector Aaron Hsu, and Hsu sold it last year (2015) for a reported $22 million to hedge-fund manager Rob Kauffman."

Hi Juergen,

Regards Steve

Allan, any word on the new Book? Is it coming?

Can someone clarify whether the new version of his book was released yet? I have search and cannot find the info. I emailed with the SAAC GT40 registrar who said SAAC has no plans to do an updated registry printing "given the recent release of Ronnie Spain's book". Uncomfuse me please. My version of his book is dated 1986, first reprint 1992 and has a black cover with red Mk II on it.

As David says, the Ronnie Spain “new book” is the first book in
the Ultimate Ford GT40 series.

From the publisher, Porter Press:

“…Volume 1, written by Ronnie Spain, provides chassis records and photos for every GT40 built, including the prototypes, roadsters, production GT40s and Mark IIs, Mark IIIs, Alan Mann cars, Mirages, J-cars and Mark IVs, in addition to details of seven original unnumbered ‘spare’ chassis. This book provides extended and updated coverage to the individual chassis histories provided in Ronnie’s original book, published in the late 1980s, here presented in a lavish package comprising 576 pages and over 1,300 photographs.”
