Parts for Lexus 4,0l V8

I don't know how extreme you want to go with these motors, but here in OZ I know of two guys who get a reliable 700hp out of these motors on a regular basis with turbos as they are way over-engeneered from factory. Anything above this I would be using forged internals.

go to this website: lextreme.com the forum is very informative on the 1, 2, & 3uz engines. lextreme is a distributor of parts for these engines. lots of good info here.
if you are in aussie land, go to v8soarer.com. this website has info on the 1uz engine (4.0L lexus engine). where and how to build this engine.
if you are interested in specific parts, pm me and i will give you specific websites for this engine.
good engine
good luck

Do you have a audio on how the lexus motor sounds in a GT40? Be interested. Hows the weight compared to a SBF or LS2 motor.

Not a GT40, but if you search YouTube for 1UZ or V8 Supra, there are a number of audio/video clips there. Here's one of my favorites: YouTube - TT 1UZ Supra Launch

It sounds a bit like a chebbie at first because they have the same firing order, but once it starts winding up, you can tell it's definitely not a SBC.

Hey Faksen!

well your Nederlands (dutch) is better than my norsk.

anyway I don't know where your girlfriend is located in holland, but if your ever in the middle of the country (Apeldoorn) you're most welcome to stop by for a coffee and a chat, I have the 1uz on the stand here waiting to take 2 eaton compressors and a stack of laminova intercoolers.

regards Thomas

if need of contact, thomas dot rouw ad gmail dot com

Sprintex over in Western Australia also do a neat low profile screw type top mounted supercharger with injection package for the toyota V8. . .i think Bullet Mx5's are getting 400kw from their package

Here's an example of what can be done with the 4.0l Lexus motor with available parts, some fabrication, and a good builder.

An engine builder buddy in Oz just finished this motor. It has a stock crank, good rods & pistons, 12.5:1 compression, cams, big valves and port work, slide type ITB's, dry sump, and it runs on 98 octane pump gas. EMS is MoTeC M800 with CDI8 ignition.

It dynoed 534 BHP @ 8400, which is 14 Bar (206 psi) BMEP or 133 HP/L.

With the exception of the dry sump, intake, and exhaust, which were all fabricated for this particular motor, the rest of the parts are available in the aftermarket, albeit not at Pep Boys, Jegs or Summit.....

Here's the dyno graph. Actual ambient conditions were 22 degrees C and 29.91" baro, and the output has been corrected to STP of 20 degrees and 29.98". The stock 1UZ engine's output has been overlaid in green and magenta.

What's amazing (to me anyway) is the torque curve - it just pulls and pulls, and doesn't start falling off until 8500.

The engine's final home will be in this Reynard chassis owned and driven by Bob Muir in Australia

thanks to john for posting up the pics from my site :)

doug, there's an 80mb video of the initial startup and run on of the engine/chassis, plus a 7mb video of a drive by on the main straight (test and tune 6500rpm on the drive by only though, not screaming) at oran park on the forums at v-eight.com - Toyota V8 and Associated Technologies ...however you need to be a member to access the download page (otherwise ill run out of bandwidth very quickly!)

link the relevant thread is below:

plenty of pics in the image gallery off the main page, and feature article buried in there as well. main reynard image gallery linked below:
