Period Airfilter needed to replace Roush

Whilst I'm sure the Roush Airfilter fitted to my 342RE with ACCEL DFI does a fine job it doesn't really look correct.

Anyone got any suggestions?

I don't know if it would fit?

but how about this thought....

fit the k&n filters like those>>

and then make some platform (only the top V shape plate) like some originals have like those on top>>

you then only see a little bit of the round filters but also a bit of the trumpets?

just an idea.

Can you flip the top cover so it's all krinkle black on top?

...or grind the raised Roush lettering and the center stripe down, refinish with black krinkle powdercoat, then use a dual action sander to strip the powdercoat off the remaining two racing stripes.

...or build a rectangular 'flame shield' and install on top of the Roush cover to help hide the oval air cleaner.

...or buy a no name 1x4 oval air cleaner like this one: No-Name Oval Air Cleaner Assembly - 1x4
