Any chance you'd share the exact width of the stripes and spacing between each as they make the car appear even wider than it is.

Ben, I'm glad you noticed that !
I was desperately trying to do just that.
The total width of the stripe spaces and all
is 20". From left to right it measures...
1/2"black - 1/2" space - 8 3/8"black -
1 1/4" center space -8 3/8"black - 1/2"space
1/2" black.

It took three tries to get the correct
spacing. This stripe pattern is very similar
to the 1966 girling GT40 P1045. It was red with white stripes. I always like the way the stripes looked on that car.

THAT THING IS GORGEOUS !!! THE COLORS ARE INCREDIBLE.

BUT, "RIDDLE ME THIS, BATMAN". (BATMEN ?) - - I'VE NEVER SEEN ONE WITH THE "FORD" BLUE OVAL ON THE FRONT. (YEAH, LIKE THERE'S A BUNCH OF THEM OTHER THAN MINE IN ASHBURN, VA). IT LOOKS REAL COOL. IS IT ORIGINAL ?? DID YOU PLACE ONE ON THE REAR ALSO ?? IF SO, WHERE ??

Hi BlackJack,
Good to see you over here once in awhile.
Jack, those are peel and stick. I don't
have one on the rear. RF makes a little
depression in the fiberglass for the emblem
when they lay up the fiberglass. But
I think it would look good even if there was no depression for it.
Jack, did you ever get that overheating
problem solved ?

I'll be at the Fling Jack, but I am not
sure at this point if the GT will be. I am waiting on my trans and windshield.

I HOPE I HAVE THE OVERHEAT PROBLEM SOLVED I PULLED THE NEW RADIATOR BACK OUT AND TOOK IT TO THE WELD SHOP TO HAVE THREADED BUNGS WELDED ONTO THE TOP - FOR AIR BLEED, AND ON THE BOTTOM FOR DRAIN. I INSTALLED THE DAVIES-CRAIG ELECTRIC WATER PUMP AT THE LOW POINT JUST AT THE RADIATOR OUTLET. I BECAME CONCERNED ABOUT THE POSSIBILITY OF ALUMINUM CHIPS FROM THE RADIATOR DRILLING GETTING INTO THE WATER PUMP AND JAMMING IT SO I INSTALLED TWO GANO COOLANT FILTERS - ONE JUST BEFORE THE RADIATOR AND THE OTHER BETWEEN THE RADIATOR AND THE WATER PUMP.

I HAD EVERYTHING WIRED AND CONNECTED EXCEPT FOR THE WIRE FROM THE COCKPIT SWITCH TO THE WATER PUMP WHEN MY ELCTRIC DRILL BATTERY GAVE OUT ON ME. THE CARS ARE STILL IN THE OLD GARAGE AT WHAT'S LEFT OF THE OLD HOUSE -NO ELECTRIC POWER. I'M ONE HOLE AWAY FROM FINDING OUT IF ANY OR ALL OF THAT IS GOING TO WORK. I SHOULD BE ABLE TO GET IN THERE THIS WEEK AND BE ABLE TO TRY IT OUT.

One thought. I could never get the air out of either my MK-IV or my Lola until I stopped running thermostats. I now use only a restrictor orifice and have had no futher overheating problems. In the fall I sometimes block off part of the radiator in my MK-IV with cardboard. Hey it worked at LeMans...

THANKS FOR THE INFO. THE DAVIES-CRAIG WATER PUMP IS WIRED IN WITH JUST AN ON-OFF SWITCH FOR NOW. I WANT TO BE ABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE OVERHEAT. IF THIS SYSTEM SEEMS TO WORK, THE NEXT STEP IS TO REMOVE THE THERMOSTAT AND THE MECHANICAL WATER PUMP IMPELLER - AND INSTALL THE DAVIES-CRAIG ELECTRONIC PUMP CONTROLLER. DAVIES-CRAIG RECOMMENDS REMOVAL OF THE T-STAT AND MECHANICAL PUMP WHEN USING THE CONTROLLER.
