Exactly Pete. If you can do all of that why not build 1:1 and enjoy driving it? Plus have something worth $XXXXX, maybe $XXXXXX, instead of $XXXX. Very cool but on some level frustrating to observe.

Agreed, I never quite understood the fascination with building models such as this, or that famous running scale 312PB Ferrari. Maybe the idea that it is impossible to own a 'real' one is so ingrained in these people, that they feel this is the closest they can get.

It costs A LOT less to make a model, even 1/5 scale. Plus, after making a few of them, you don't need a large garage and security system...
