Prices in Australia

Hi Guys
Im new to this list, I'm interested in some opinions about what I would pay for a going registered GT40 in Australia. I understand that there are quite a few variables, so just an idea would do.

Hi LArry

It depends of course on whether what you want to pay matches what the seller wants for their vehicle.....
At the moment, Unique Cars magazine has a couple of cars for sale, both are DRB's (GT40 Australia) cars of high spec. One is for sale at $150K AUD and the other is at $105K AUD. I recall another cople of cars recently in the same mag advertised at $125K (it was an RF) and the other was a DRB for $105K.

These prices are generally around the mark for a turn key car from the manufacturer - only GT40 Australia doing turnkeys now in Australia. I am not sure what it would cost to bring in a turnkey minus car from the US or Sth Africa and whether or not you could get it through the RTA / ADR minefield.

Regards

Bill.

Thanks for your feedback, if I can get into a car for a bit over the 100 thousand, which it looks like I might, I will look at it more seriously. I spoke to CAV in South Africa and they say they are currently getting Australian ADR approval for their car, though for the price i want to pay, I think I will be looking for a second hand car rather than new? If you know of anyone in Melbourne that has a road registered car that would take me for a spin, I would like to do that before I launch into looking for a car.

If your in melbourne I'll be testing my car, bedding in brakes etc next week. Basically involves driving the car round the block. You're welcome to hop in the passengers seat. I'm in Seaford (Mornington Peninsula).
