Princess front calipers

This is only really aimed at owners who may have this setup fitted to the front of their cars.
I have a pair of rebuilt AP racing four pot (austin princess) calipers fitted with 7mm spacers for the front of my car.
I have just assembled the upright (std granada) with new bearings and discs (std granada, vented, 24mm thick).
I came to put the caliper on the upright to find that it does not properly fit! the gap for the disc to fit in between the caliper is 24mm, the same as the disc width. Apart from that, the position of the disc is holding the caliper about 2mm too tight to the upright (sorry not too good at explaining).
Has anyone tried this setup? if so, what width of disc are you using and maybe more importantly, what width spacer are you using in the calipers? (as it seems a slightly thicker spacer would cure the problem)
Any advice much appreciated

Simon

Simon:
I am not aware of your particular setup but on AP racing 4 pot calipers shims are sometimes used to move the caliper outward from brackets to get proper alignment
