My 01E 6-speed is on the way from Germany. I want to equip it with a Quaife limited slip differential. Quaife gets $1,424 (shipped) for this unit, but I want to get a better price. Can someone recommend a source with good prices for Quaife products?

I spoke with Quaife America a few weeks ago and they quoted me $1295 plus $25 shipping. The price list is on their website. The prices for both the 016 and 01E units are listed as $1295.

Funny, they quoted me $1,424 shipped just yesterday. Their web site shows $1,395, and has for some time.
Hi Mark, and if you download the PDF, which says it is the current prices put out 12/15/2004 ,,,3 months ago, it says 1295 for either (but has the old disclaimer),,,prices subject to change without notice also on that.Maybe it depends who you just happen to talk to . I should point out first that certain items in the Quaife product list are made on an exclusive supply basis but Quaife will always be happy to put you in touch with the vender they supply the particular part for.
In saying that, as far as I know the 016 diff is not on one of these exclusive deals (I`ll check on Monday), as we deal with Quaife on a daily basis we can usualy offer the best prices, please email me direct at [email protected] and I`ll have a word with Bernie (the boss) and see what we can do these diffs for, for GT40 forum/club members.
It may be of some interest to forum members and may also explain some price discrepancies to point out that Quaife America are not directly part of, or owned by Quaife UK, they are a separate company that sell selected Quaife products in the USA and therefore have there own price structure. On occasion in the past we have been able to sell to the States at less than Quaife America have quoted and with the 016 heavy duty kit in the pipeline we can see we will be placing large orders of this particular diff so may be able to help you out.

Thanks, Stuart. Please note that I'm looking for a Quaife LSD for an Audi 01E, not an 016. I already own an 016 with a Quaife installed and I plan to sell it.
To the extent that you know people inside Quaife, you may want to pass on some feedback on Quaife America when I posted a similar topic on another forum. Apparently, there is not much love between Quaife America and USA dealers and customers. I get the impression that Quaife could sell a lot more product in the US with a better US distributor and more reasonable pricing to dealers.
