A popular and easy to swap out conversion for CAV GTs.
What's included is 1)SFI Certified Quick Release Hub Kit, choice of push pin or ring collar release, 1) Modified CAV GT steering colum fitted with hex or spline adaptor tig welded onto the steering shaft, new trigger for turn signal switch, shortened intermediate shaft. 1) Steering Wheel Adaptor, choice of low profile CNC Aluminum hub or modified original cast hub.
These are done on an exchange basis because the overhaul of the colum, cutting, machining and welding are better done here.
The cast hub adaptor keeps the wheel in stock location, the billet aluminum part gives more arm reach by moving the wheel closer to the dash.
Note: The cast enameled GT40 bagdes are optional in the kit. Two styles currently available, one is bright the other has a "patina" look about it, although both are brand new at 89.95 each. The cast badges are larger in diameter and thickness so some machining on the recess for the CAV badge, 25.00 for machining.
The regular price of the conversion is 695.00 exchange, less 10% GT40s forum member discount makes it 625.00.
There's are deals to be had on these parts, this being a good time of year to do maintainance and upgrade work.
I have 2) complete conversions in stock with hex drive hubs, one has the low profile adaptor, the other has the stock length CAV modified hub. Includes intermediate shafts too. Sale price for either style, with exchange 495.00.
For splined adaptors (and hex after the above are sold) the exchange price is 595.00
For the cast GT40 badges, when bought with the quick release kit there will be no extra charge for machining the center to accept the badge, ad just 89.95 to the conversion.
There's four 13mm bolts on the colum mounts and two 13mm bolts on the intermediate shaft to undo, on harness to unplug and it's out of there. Easy job. Don't send the steering wheel with the colum, just the hub parts, colum and intermediate shaft.
Great addition to the car, everyone with it loves the conversion.
