I positioned the spider first (per the build manual), then the front clip. The fore/aft position of the rocker panels and rear clam is then established by those pieces. My rocker panels ended up as far aft as they would go without modification. With a wheel base of 94-1/2” my tires fit nicely within the wheel arches. My front tires just kiss the gas tank access panels. I am going to dish these a bit to create clearance.

It's been a while since I've posted anything, but here's an update.
I'm working on recreating the front frame from original drawings and pictures from original cars. I also had a lot of help from Tom from Germany's build log. Made from square tubes 25x25mm and 20x20mm.

Hello GT40 friends. Time for a little update.
I have been making brackets for attaching the cooling radiator and AC radiator. Used 1.5mm stainless steel that I polished. Between the brackets and the cooling radiator I used 5mm rubber sheets so that the radiator is not mechanically attached to the front frame. Was very happy with the result.
Also made side plates for the front frame, I made these in 1.5mm aluminum. Made a template of 15mm plywood where I clamp a plywood sheet on each side of where I will be folding.

Will add updated work hours so that it may be a guideline for other builders how much work it is.
Note. I am not a professional builder, this is my first build and will not emphasize time, but rather spend time on quality and details. There are many out there who build much faster than I do.

Hours used so far: 338
