Renault un1

Gents few questions.ive assembled my engine and box, ford 302 and the renualt un1.ap clutch kit.
First question i have chris cole supplied clutch fork ,bearing carrier and bearing.
Looking down onto the clutch should the bearing be on the clutch plate.?
How much play should i have on the fork?
Should there be a gap between the bearing and clutch pressure plate so when you move the fork the bearing actually moves.
Any help would be magnificent!
Pic 1 is the play ,pic 2 is location of fork, pic 3 is the slave fitted.
Thanks

I do not know about the Chris Cole fork Setup, but I do know that there should be a slight gap between these throughout bearing and the clutch face. I had to modify and add to my push rod coming out of slave cylinder to make this happen.

I have yet to get my car running so I do not know the results

David how did you modify can i ask, looking into the box with a torch can see the bearing against the pressure plate, havent attempted to bleed yet, agree there should be a gap between the 2.
Cheers shaun

I was always told the bearing touching the pressure plate is ok, but must not have any pressure.

The big thing is, with the UNI is to get enough fluid to Kobe so as to get the clutch to release fully when changing gears.

The Renault slave is huge bore…..over an inch from memory and thus takes a large bore master to make it work.

They can be sleeved down which makes matching the master and slave easier.. rule of thumb is you will need 3/4 inch slave movement to release

I modified this by making the pin easily removable with a cross bolt. I further also cut down the spring that push pushes back against the piston because it was providing a lot of pressure onto the release bearing while sat with no hydraulic pressure. I’m modified the length of my push rod because it was initially too long and had pressed against the BELL housing so I had no room that way either I am through research and talking with other FGT members found that we had to cut off the release face from the pressure plate so that the release bearing will contact the fingers of the springs directly now I have the release bearing sitting 1 to 2 mm off of the springs and have plenty of room for the arm to depress the springs
