Shipping to the UK from the USA

I'm looking at importing a complete stroker kit from the US to the UK (it's cheaper than re-grinding my crank and buying new standard parts over here)
The problem is that most of the companies I'm talking to will only deal with their own freight companies and are pricing shipping at pretty much $400 (not too far off the cost of the kits)
Is there anybody in the US who would act as a "shipping buddy" who I can have the parts delivered to and would be prepared to forward the parts at a cheaper cost (plus a consideration of course) as I'm in no rush for the parts
Incidentally, as the parts would then be (technically) second-hand, I would guess that it MAY be possible to describe them as "secondhand car parts" and attribute a lower price to them for customs (of course this may be illegal !!!)

It`s a third party deal, the parts don`t become used parts in the HM Customs sense.
And yes... attributing a lower price than you actually paid is illegal, it`s called tax evasion.

How much is a round trip from London to New York city ? I bet if you flew standby after the holidays, put the parts into two separate checked bags to avoid overweight charges, and did a overnight red-eye you could pick them up and do it for less than $400. Better yet anyone in the US going to England soon? You might get them over there for the price of a dinner and a couple of drinks.

I don't know. Do you declare parts in your bags?
